Manchester United eye Aurelien Tchouameni amid Real Madrid interest

Transfer market heats up
The summer transfer window is seeing significant activity, with several major clubs pursuing new signings. Among them, Manchester United is reportedly boosting its pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni. His Real Madrid teammate, Eduardo Camavinga, is also on United’s radar. The club is considering a range of midfielders, including Carlos Baleba, Manu Kone, Sander Berge, Danilo, and Tyler Adams.
In related news, Manchester United is reportedly nearing a deal to sign Manu Kone from Roma. Personal terms have been agreed upon with the midfielder, though an agreement with Roma is still pending. Reports from Italy suggest United is prepared to offer around £43m, which is below Roma’s asking price.
Arsenal’s pursuit of key targets
Arsenal is actively seeking to strengthen its squad, with a focus on high-quality players to build on its previous season’s title performance. The club is set to make a £70m offer for Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes. Guimaraes, a Brazil international, is a priority target for the Gunners and is reportedly keen to join the Premier League champions. Newcastle is aware of the 28-year-old’s preference to move to Arsenal this summer. Discussions regarding a potential transfer for Guimaraes are ongoing and are believed to have accelerated recently. While personal terms are not expected to be an issue, it remains uncertain if Arsenal’s £70m offer will align with Newcastle’s valuation. Sources close to Newcastle indicate that the Magpies have no intention of selling Guimaraes this summer and that no direct approach has been made by Arsenal for their player.
Arsenal also holds significant interest in Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa and has inquired about the England international’s availability. Konsa is considered Arsenal’s primary defensive target. The Gunners are also looking at Jacobo Ramon from Como, though clauses in the Spaniard’s contract may complicate a deal.
The club was previously interested in Morgan Rogers, who has since joined Chelsea for £117m from Aston Villa. Arsenal declined to exceed their £80m valuation for Rogers and reportedly passed on an opportunity to match Chelsea’s offer. Similarly, Arsenal maintains a strict maximum valuation for Guimaraes and is unwilling to overpay, despite their desire to sign the midfielder.
For attacking reinforcements, Arsenal remains active in the market. Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez is a key target, but his current desire to join Barcelona and a potentially high cost, possibly exceeding the British record fee of £125m, present challenges. Arsenal has also explored a move for Paris St-Germain winger Bradley Barcola. The club is reportedly considering a player-plus-cash deal involving Viktor Gyokeres for Julian Alvarez, with Gyokeres having scored 20 goals across 43 appearances in his debut campaign for Arsenal.
Other notable transfer developments
Inter Milan has contacted Cristian Romero’s representatives, with reports from Italy suggesting an offer of around £34m for his services. Romero is reportedly open to the move, and his agent has traveled to Milan to facilitate the deal.
West Ham is reportedly struggling to offload Jean-Clair Todibo this summer, with the club reportedly willing to sell for £15m but receiving no interest. Real Madrid has also entered the race for Yan Diomande, lodging a €100m bid after PSG faced difficulties meeting RB Leipzig’s valuation.
Chelsea has opened discussions with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of Kerim Alajbegović. The 18-year-old Bosnian’s performances at the World Cup reportedly prompted Chelsea’s interest. It is yet to be determined if he would remain at Cobham or go out on loan if a deal is completed. Chelsea has also agreed moves for Benji Flowers and Harrison Bettoni, and Maxence Lacroix is undergoing a medical on Friday for a £52m switch from Crystal Palace.
Crysencio Summerville has completed a £65m move from West Ham to Al Hilal. Additionally, set-piece coach Austin MacPhee has departed Aston Villa, with reports suggesting he is set to join Chelsea.
Rodri is reportedly choosing Real Madrid, with the club now preparing an offer for Manchester City after initially being unwilling to sign him this summer.
